Admissions Information

Foreign Medical Schools

There are a number of reasons why you might choose to attend a foreign medical school. Admissions requirements are usually less stringent that those of US schools, the teaching in many foreign universities is excellent, and many foreign schools are located in exotic locations such as Mexico or the Carribean. However, there are risks associated with attending a foreign medical school. Some students will find it difficult to gain admission to US residencies following graduation, and others may struggle to gain employment in the US once fully trained. However, for highly motivated students who research foreign schools thoroughly, the chances of becoming a competent, fully-employed US physician are high.

We can help you decide whether or not attending a foreign medical school is for you. In addition, if you decide to pursue a foreign degree, we can help you select schools while guiding you through the admissions process.
