Entrance Exams
Most medical schools in the United States require applicants to take the MCAT (medical college admissions exam). This test evaluates applicants' knowledge of basic science and their ability to apply it. Basic science consists primarily of freshman year Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. However, applicants are increasingly expected to know some higher level material such as molecular biology and biochemistry. Consequently, any upper level Biology or Chemistry classes are likely to aid you on the MCAT. Nevertheless, the MCAT is heavily dependent on reading comprehension and reasoning skills. These traits are most easily developed through practice with MCAT-like materials.
We will advise you on how to best prepare for the MCAT. Our staff has years of experience teaching basic science and test preparation. As a result, we are familiar with the materials and practices most likely to ensure your success.
